Chiltern Railways is part of the Arriva group, one of the leading providers of passenger transport in Europe. Chiltern Railways operates commuter/regional rail passenger services from its Central London terminus at London Marylebone along the M40 corridor to destinations in Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Warwickshire, as well as long-distance services to the West Midlands along two routes.

The Traincrew Controllers look after the resourcing of train crew to trains during service distruption or any other ad-hoc requirement. The Train-crew Resource Controllers also look after the ad-hoc rostering (i.e. covering vacant turns) of the unsupervised train crew depots at Stourbridge, Moor Street and Banbury once the base roster has been displayed.

Liaise with CR depots, Network Rail and other departments on day to day train crew service related issues

Ensure train crew resources are effectively utilised for delivery of the CR train plan

Co-ordinate resources with train crew and depots during out of course train running or service disruption

Update Compass log with train crew related issues including reasons for sickness

Negotiate short term hire of train crew with other TOCs in the event of shortage or for route knowledge purposes etc

Refer to train crew diagrams, schedule cards and daily alteration sheets as necessary to ensure CR train plan is followed

Update IRMA to inform and reflect any alterations

Ensure simplifiers for following day(s) are annotated with driver diagram number and distribute when complete

Monitor portable head and tail lamp status and arrange redistribution as required

Maintain an up-to-date driver and train manager daily roster appearance sheet
Experience working within a rostering or control environment

Experience working with TRUST, TMIS, COMPASS, CCF & other industry applications

Good understanding of Traincrew or Logistics terms and conditions and working parameters

Retain and recall safety-related information, including that which will only be used in emergencies.
